Cutting Back, Freeing Time

We live incredibly busy lives and I’m no different.

24 hours is all the time that we’re given in one day. And the 24 hours is partitioned up so that there’s barely any free time. We’ll do the math. Say, we sleep for at least eight hours. That leaves us with 16. I go to school from 8:10 to 3:15. That’s about seven hours. Nine hours left. Take out about an hour or two for traveling, and that leaves me with at most six hours.

Six hours. That’s not a lot of time, to be honest. And the six hours I have left is divided up between work and eating. So how much more time do I have left for personal enjoyment?

I don’t know. It depends. But I know that it’s very little, to say the least.

Lately, I’ve become more and more busy. I don’t know if it’s simply because I’m finding it harder to concentrate (but I’ve always found it hard to concentrate), but I’m sure that there’s been more work that before. To be expected, of course. As school progresses more work is to come. That’s pretty normal.

But I find that I don’t have as much time as I did before. And this is having an effect on my hobbies. Firstly, I’m finding it increasingly hard to find time to write for Homewritten History. HH requires a ton of time to research and write. And to be honest, I’m not sure if I’m actually enjoying writing HH or not. It just…hasn’t come out to be what I wanted it to be like. I set out to create a history blog that wasn’t written by boring professors. I don’t know if what I write is what a ‘boring professor’ would write.

Then there’s my novel. As I mentioned earlier, I’m thinking of rewriting my novel. And I’m not having much fun with my historical fiction novel either.

Basically, all my side-projects are rather messed up right now.

I need to cut out and change things.

This means that I’m probably going to be reevaluating all the stuff I’m doing and overhauling a lot of stuff. My blog, for example. I mentioned earlier that I might switch to Tumblr. I still haven’t decided yet. There’s a strong possibility that I might move to Tumblr, however. As for my novel, I’m probably going to have to stop with Shield of Fire and either find a new novel or go back to rewriting Revolution.

Ugh. It’s all very confusing. I’m still very busy right now. In a week or so, I’ll come back and post on what I’m going to be changing.
